Entrepreneurship Tool
LiveTotalAvailableMarket.com
A quick free tool I built to practice working with Census data and making extrapolations alongside other publicly available data sources like the CDC BRFSS and BLS ATUS.
Thesis
Entrepreneurs often struggle to quickly size the available market for their business ideas. The goal was to provide a tool for users to rapidly estimate an addressable market based on demographics, hobbies, health factors, time usage, and more—all leveraging publicly available government datasets.
Approach
The tool integrates Census data, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (CDC BRFSS), and the American Time Use Survey (BLS ATUS). These datasets enable surprisingly granular population breakdowns when combined intelligently.
Roadmap
I plan on layering in additional datasets and eventually monetizing through two methods:
1. A paid feature to receive a population breakdown deck with projected methods of engagement and trends amongst selected populations (internally calling it "McKinsey in a box")
2. Implementing Google AdSense once traffic builds
The SEO Experiment
This site doubles as my experiment in self-taught SEO to see if I can take a brand new unregistered domain to the front page of Google for particular search terms. It's a long game, but the learnings around keyword research, content strategy, and technical SEO have already been valuable.
